Direct Debit Terms & Conditions

The account holder agrees that Lightwire Limited must provide at least 10 days’ prior notice of each direct debit, including the first in any series. For changes to the amount or frequency of a series of direct debits, 30 days’ prior notice must be given.

The account holder also agrees to receive same-day notice for any direct debits that are specifically requested by an authorised representative of the business.

All notices must be provided in writing, but may be delivered electronically if this has been agreed with Lightwire Limited.

The account holder may request the bank to reverse a direct debit up to 120 days after the payment if:

  • Proper notice of the amount and date of the direct debit was not received; or
  • Notice was received, but the amount or date of the debit differs from the notice.

 If a direct debit is dishonoured, and Lightwire Limited retries the transaction within five business days, no additional notice is required for the retried debit.
